Churches are our lifeblood.
Wycliffe Australia operates in partnership
with church leaders and local churches. All Wycliffe members
belong to a church. Church communities provide
the spiritual and financial support we require to function.
We believe in the Church, the spiritual union of all believers,
commissioned to make disciples of all nations.
Wycliffe actively seeks advice from local churches. We have
Pastors on our governance board to ensure we remain connected
to the church community and our policies and procedures reflect
their needs and concerns.
Local churches are the engine room of Christian discipleship.
Many a member's heart for mission work has been nurtured
and matured through years of Sunday School, dedicated teaching,
and mentoring received in their local church. Wycliffe gratefully
acknowledges the strong spiritual heritage our members have
and the role church's play.
Local congregations are central to our recruitment efforts.
Our senior staff and regional representatives always welcome
the opportunity to visit churches and explain who we are
and what God has called us to do. If your church is planning
a mission awareness week, we would be happy to attend and
participate in any way we can.
Local churches are our partners in selecting future members.
Our membership process ensures that the congregation and
its leadership are actively involved when a person joins
Wycliffe. No one joins Wycliffe without the support of their
church. Wycliffe members are then individually responsible
for keeping in touch with their
congregations and pastors and visiting them whenever possible.
Local congregations are the backbone of Vision 2025. Many
of our staunchest supporters are deeply committed
churches who work tirelessly to advance Vision 2025; through
prayer, sacrificial giving and tireless support. We thank
our God for his church.
