If you’re serious about God’s call – get ready. At
Wycliffe, we’re in the serious business of training. Our
first Australian school – the Summer Institute of
Linguistics – began in a farmhouse in 1950. Today, it's
called EQUIP Training - and it operates a purpose-built
centre at Kangaroo Ground Victoria. EQUIP provides
training in linguistics, literacy, translation, language
and culture learning while encouraging spiritual
resilience. That means we train people who’ll stick
around and get the job done anywhere. Courses range from
a few weeks to a year. The year-long courses are
accredited. If you’re ready for the serious stuff, read
on.
Training Requirements
How much preparation you need depends
on what God has called you to do. Our training requirements
generally fall into three major areas:
Language, Support
and Aviation.
Language has the highest training requirements (see below) but we also offer relevant training for support staff. Support covers a vast array of
disciplines, such as administration, accounting,
teaching, computing, construction, medical work,
office work, media, maintenance and management. Aviation
generally requires specialised training - and courses.
Click an option below to go to that area. For even
more information, click on the links to each of our
training providers below.
